Want to indulge yourself at home? An eco-friendly spa day is the perfect remedy to clear your mind and treat your body and soul to a little R&R. I’ve been enjoying spending some quality time with my sister when we have spa days at home.
From hair masks to facials, here are some ways you can tune out the chaos and indulge yourself.
At Home Spa Day Itinerary
Listen to Music
Music can be a cleansing experience, and it costs you nothing to look up your favorite tunes online and let them fill your home. Find music that speaks to your current mood or that promotes calming and relaxation and let it flow through you.
Light an Eco-Friendly Candle
Soy, beeswax, and coconut based wax candles create an instant spa-like feel in any room, plus they don’t contain the harmful contaminants and fragrances that other candles do. Or, you can set up an essential oil diffuser and let aromatherapy whisk you away to Spa Town.
Put a Healthy Snack Within Arm’s Reach
Most spas put out fruit- or cucumber-infused water pitchers and healthy snacks like fruits and nuts for guests to enjoy before or after a treatment. You likely have some of these things on hand already, so make sure to include them in your eco friendly spa day at home.
Set the Mood
Put on a Comfy Robe
Plush bamboo or organic cotton robes are as eco-friendly as they come, and they’re super cozy! You’ll love the feel of the natural fabric against your skin and feel even better knowing your robe isn’t filled with harsh chemicals or plastics like synthetic fibers. I love these fluffy cotton robes from Coyuchi.
Dip Into an Eco-Friendly Spa Bath
Ditch the synthetic bath bombs and faux-fragrance soaps in favor of natural epsom salts or essential oils. They leave your skin feeling soft and refreshed without compromise. If you want to up the ante on your eco friendly spa day, add some herbs or flowers to your bathwater, like lavender, rose, chamomile, or jasmine.

Cleanse and Exfoliate Your Skin
Natural exfoliants like coffee grounds, sea salt, or sugar are better for your skin that off-the-shelf products that could contain chemicals and irritate your skin. Add one of the above to a little olive oil and gently apply to your skin.
Apply a Face Mask
Grab your cucumber slices and prepare to treat your skin! My favorite at-home mask recipe contains oatmeal, water, one egg white, and a little yogurt and honey. Apply to your face, then place a couple cucumber slices over your eyes and let Mother Nature do her best work (for 15 minutes).
Tone and Moisturize Your Skin
Finish your eco friendly spa day at home with a rich moisturizer and toner to lock in all the goodness you’ve delivered to your skin. Shea butter and aloe are my go-to favorites and leave me feeling refreshed and relaxed for the rest of the day.
