Black and White Sands

laurel style

Just returned home from an amazing solo road trip around New Mexico! I had never visited the state before, and was overwhelmed by the natural beauty and friendly people everywhere I visited. My road trip started in Albuquerque, and included stops in Sante Fe, Taos, and the Bisti Badlands. My initial reason for planning the trip was that I had seen photographs of the White Sands National Monument, and I had an instant vision for how I wanted to redesign my homepage using photos taken there. So my final stop on my trip was to White Sands, where I spent three days hiking out into the glorious dunes in various outfits.

I love the unique, draped cuts DIZINGOF creates with their dress designs. This dress can be worn in different ways by tying the drapes up or leaving them flowing. One of the staple pieces in my Summer and travel wardrobe is this hat from Janessa Leoné. Janessa designs stunning wool and straw hats in many different styles. The hats are sustainably made and cruelty free, designed to last for many years. If you look closely at this scarf from Billy Reid, you’ll see hundreds of tiny spiders woven into the luscious fabric! Spiders are my spirit animal, so this is one of my favorite travel accessories to layer as a daytime look.
